Popup/exit-intent

Peterson Academy Popup/exit-intent — “Professor Seminar Livestreams – coming soon”

Why it works

About two-thirds of the way down the listicle (around 3,500px), a full-screen popup asks for an email to “be the first to know” about livestreamed seminars that don’t exist yet. It is the only free thing on offer. It fires once per visitor; a second visit in the same browser doesn’t show it.

  1. Peterson Academy — “Professor Seminar Livestreams – coming soon” (screen 1)
Over a photo of students in Academy merchandise: “Coming soon. Professor Seminar Livestreams. Be the first to know.” One field, “Continue”.
  2. Peterson Academy — “Professor Seminar Livestreams – coming soon” (screen 2)
    Filled with a tagged address.
  3. Peterson Academy — “Professor Seminar Livestreams – coming soon” (screen 3)
“You’re on the list! You’ve been added to the Peterson Academy mailing list.” The confirmation doesn’t mention livestreams. The email was for the mailing list.
